Special Sale events at our Stoke Factory,
Sunday 2nd January
The Emma Bridgewater massive January Sale starts on Wednesday 29th December. If you’re a member of our Collector’s Club, you’ll be able to start taking advantage of some fabulous offers from 9am. Non-members will be able to start shopping at 1pm. However much we love Christmas, we also know that keeping your family entertained for the entire period, as well as cooking enough food to feed an army, can be quite a challenge. And even though you might want to shop for bargains, your children may not want to trek round the sales with you. We’ve come up with a solution to keep everyone happy with our SPECIAL SALE EVENT at our factory in Stoke on Trent on Sunday 2nd January. Encourage your children to enter our winter trail competition with the chance to win a personalised mug, or make the most of the special offers in our decorating studio. We’ll have lots of brilliant bargains and seconds for you in our shop and if you haven’t yet enjoyed a mug of tea in our gorgeous kitchen, then come and flop into one of the huge sofas, and see what’s being prepared in our Polka Dot Aga. Get out of the house and have some family fun, while you pick up some real sale bargains.
The Christmas lights are on and now we’re dreaming of a really special Christmas this year at our factory in Stoke-on-Trent. Why not give something truly unique this Christmas. Come and decorate you own piece in the decorating studio with our new Christmas sponges?
We’re going to be open late until 8pm on Thursday 9th December and Thursday 16th December.
With carol singing in the courtyard (can you ever have enough carols in December?) it’s a great chance for some Christmas shopping away from the hustle and bustle of the high street. With schools on holiday for a full week before Christmas this year, we’ve got plenty planned to entertain your little ones.
Laurie will be making Christmas decorations on Monday 20th December, Tuesday 21st December and Wednesday 22nd December. Come and join the fun!
Stoke-on-Trent is a city that became great because of pottery. Thirty years ago, there were 200 factories here producing pottery and the industry employed about 30,000 people. Times have changed, and now most of the big historical names have gone, but we are very proud of our factory in the middle of the city, producing 10,000 mugs, jugs and plates every week. The two hundred people who make that pottery are proud of their factory, their craftsmanship, their workshops and most of all, the pottery they produce.
There’s something epic about seeing the work that goes into producing your favourite mugs, jugs and plates, and we would love you to come and call at the factory. You can take a tour around the building to watch the decorators, casters, platemakers and fettlers as they work, or see the hot ware being unloaded from the kiln and watch each polka dot applied by hand. We also have a Seconds Shop and a Design Studio where Emma and Matthew develop their continually changing range. You can decorate your favourite shape in our Decorating Studio while you send your children outside to play table tennis in our covered yard.
Best of all, the newest addition to our courtyard is our huge Kitchen, decorated with our collection of Stoke-on-Trent photographs. There are big leather sofas comfortable enough to sink into for the afternoon to read the papers, and several kitchen tables where you can sit with your laptop and work, if you want to, as we’ve put in WiFi to make your day easier. We’ve got a kitchen garden hidden in the middle of the factory, and you might get tomatoes from the greenhouse heated with recycled kiln heat, and in the kitchen you’ll probably find someone making a batch of flapjacks at the Aga.
Come and see us in Stoke, or combine it with a trip to Chatsworth, which is less than an hour away, or a trip to the Wedgwood museum.
There is much to see and do in Stoke-on-Trent. It is a marvellous place.
