Merchandise Assistant

London

Provide sales data and admin support that will assist the Merchandiser and Head of Merchandising in formulating product plans and carrying out day to day tasks.


  • Set up, maintain and manage the merchandise product catalogue, ensuring all data is accurate, this includes: prices, product codes, and care instructions.
  • Organise and manage the webmaster, to ensure the e-commerce team includes all accurate and relevant product details on the trade and retail websites.
  • Set up product codes and prices.
  • Collate, input and update sales information using spreadsheets to provide statistics, e.g. bring to life customer shopping patterns to enable us to make effective decisions on stock allocation, and product offers.
  • Work closely with the marketing, customer service, and e-commerce team, giving product information and presentations for commercial support, e.g. keep the team well informed of new product launches
  • Raise purchase orders for all buy ins, and handle any discrepancies with supplier deliveries to ensure timely delivery of stock.
  • Day to day admin jobs.

You will ideally have worked in a merchandising role previously and have experience of excel. Strong communication and organisational skills are essential for this role.

These could be for roles in our Office, Shops, Design Studios, Warehouse or in Ceramics Manufacture. As well as receiving on the job training working closely with an experienced Mentor, we would support the achievement of a relevant and recognised qualification.

Work Experience

We are committed to developing links with schools, colleges and universities, and we are happy to accept invitations from students looking to undertake unpaid work experience placements. These placements may involve time spent in our Offices, Shops, Warehouse or Factory, normally over a 5 day period.

Factory PR & Marketing Manager

Hanley, Stoke On Trent

We are looking for an experienced individual who will help to support the delivery of our ambitious sales growth for our Award winning Emma Bridgewater Factory by:

  • Raising awareness of the Emma Bridgewater Factory amongst target customers
  • Increasing repeat customer visits to the Factory site
  • This role will report directly into the PR & Marketing Manager in our Putney Office

Accountabilities

  • Lead the development and delivery of the Emma Bridgewater Factory Marketing and PR plan to hit agreed marketing objectives (sales, PR and customer acquisition targets)
  • Work with the Factory Retail Team to recommend events and activities to drive footfall at key trading times, developing marketing plans and partnerships to support activities at the Factory
  • Work with the Emma Bridgewater Marketing & PR Manager to support the national PR plan
  • Our Stoke PR and Marketing Manager is the main point of contact for media visiting the Factory so will play an important part in coordinating press visits, PR briefings and arranging interviews
  • Manage relationships with local media, businesses and groups
  • Manage the Factory customer database, planning and implementing a communication plan for individual customers and groups, using email and direct mail
  • Briefing and signing off all Factory Marketing materials
  • Briefing updates for the Factory website
  • Develop the Factory social media plan, and manage Tripadvisor reviews and responses
  • Assist with specific projects and events at the Factory
  • Managing the monthly Stoke Marketing and PR meetings

You will ideally have worked at Regional PR level previously and have experience of managing events and copy writing. Strong communication and organisational skills are essential for this role.

Head Chef

Our Factory, Stoke-on-Trent

We’re looking for a food-loving chef to produce delicious food in the kitchen of our Victorian factory in Staffordshire. You’ll be responsible for planning menus, cooking and serving lunch in our café for around 75 people each day, ordering fresh and dry produce, and managing a small team including our brilliant baker.

We have a small kitchen garden and our greenhouses on the roof of the factory are heated by recycled kiln heat, so we’d love to recruit someone interested in using food grown on site.

Experience of cooking in a restaurant or delicatessen and managing a small team in a similar environment is essential for this role, and as a minimum you will have achieved a Basic Food Hygiene certificate. This role is ideal for someone with an interest in contemporary, informal cooking.

Experience of catering for large numbers is also essential.

Your working week will be on a rota of 5 days over 7, and you will additionally be required on occasions to undertake catering for special on site events outside of normal working hours.
