As part of our commitment to retaining skills and developing careers in the Ceramics Industry, we are happy to consider applications for Apprenticeships. These could be for roles in our Office, Shops, Design Studios, Warehouse or in Ceramics Manufacture. As well as receiving on the job training working closely with an experienced Mentor, we would support the achievement of a relevant and recognised qualification.

Work Experience

We are committed to developing links with schools, colleges and universities, and we are happy to accept invitations from students looking to undertake unpaid work experience placements. These placements may involve time spent in our Offices, Shops, Warehouse or Factory, normally over a 5 day period.

Trainee Sponge Decorators

Our Factory, Stoke-on-Trent

We are looking to recruit a small number of temporary Pottery Decorators as follows:

3 x Trainee Sponge Decorators (Maternity Covers) – experience is not essential, but the role may suit an art graduate or someone with an interest in art and design.

A good eye for detail and the right attitude to work is essential for these roles. You will additionally be required to meet production and quality targets.

Hours of work will be 39 hours p/w Monday-Friday.

Work based assessment required. Immediate starts available.

Head Chef

Our Factory, Stoke-on-Trent

We’re looking for a food-loving chef to produce delicious food in the kitchen of our Victorian factory in Staffordshire. You’ll be responsible for planning menus, cooking and serving lunch in our café for around 75 people each day, ordering fresh and dry produce, and managing a small team including our brilliant baker.

We have a small kitchen garden and our greenhouses on the roof of the factory are heated by recycled kiln heat, so we’d love to recruit someone interested in using food grown on site.

Experience of cooking in a restaurant or delicatessen and managing a small team in a similar environment is essential for this role, and as a minimum you will have achieved a Basic Food Hygiene certificate. This role is ideal for someone with an interest in contemporary, informal cooking.

Experience of catering for large numbers is also essential.

Your working week will be on a rota of 5 days over 7, and you will additionally be required on occasions to undertake catering for special on site events outside of normal working hours.
