At the beginning of this year we launched our Florence Nightingale mug to mark her bicentenary and you might remember that on the 12th May we donated £5 from every Florence Nightingale mug to the Florence Nightingale Foundation.
This year The Foundation launched the Florence Nightingale White Rose Appeal, funds from which will go towards helping nurses and midwives working on the frontline during the Covid-19 pandemic and beyond. As part of the appeal, the public are encouraged to buy an e-white rose in support of a nurse or midwife who has helped them or a loved one. Every white e-rose bought, will go on to form part of an actual floral display to be created at Westminster Abbey when lockdown comes to an end, marking and honouring the contribution of nurses and midwives everywhere. From 21st of October to the 4th of November 2020, the Florence Nightingale Foundation will be marking Florence Nightingale leaving for and arriving at Scutari Hospital in Turkey to care for injured soldiers during the Crimean War and to mark this occasion we’ll be donating £5 from the sale of every Pink Roses mug to the White Rose Appeal.
