We are looking to recruit a number of positions for our Victorian Factory Shop Café and Decorating Studio..

The ideal candidates will ideally have previous experience of working in a retail/café environment and knowledge of the Emma Bridgewater Ltd brand and product.

Strong customer service and sales skills are desirable for this role. For the Decorating Studio, an interest in Art and Design would also be an advantage.

You must be a team player, be prepared to use your own initiative and be flexible.

All roles will be rota’d over 7 days.

Wholesale Manager

London office, regular travel to our Stoke-on-Trent site, field visits as required and some international travel.

- Salary dependent on experience

We believe there is considerable opportunity for growth for the Emma Bridgewater brand via the wholesale channel. We are looking for the right individual who can deliver increased wholesale sales within the UK and internationally.

This role requires somebody who is as adept at dealing with Top Tier international department stores as with small independent stockists. We feel opportunity exists to:

- Increase UK sales via independents, through both opening new accounts as well as better managing existing accounts
- Expand international distribution via both top tier department store listings as well as via prime independent locations.

You will lead a small office-based team to deliver this growth and oversee all day-to-day operations required to maintain the smooth running of the wholesale business.


- Grow UK and International wholesale sales – identify opportunities for growth, put together plan to realise, evaluate progress
- Lead wholesale team – reshaping processes and introducing new ways of working where appropriate
- Ensure smooth running of daily/seasonal operations with wholesale customers
- Reporting on sales, preparing annual sales budgets
- Oversee the launch of our new trade website

Skills & Approach

- Passion for understanding the customer – maximising relationship with existing customers and bringing new customers on board
- Proactive and enthusiastic – keen to make things happen, troubleshoot any problems
- A leader – able to motivate, inspire and lead a small team
- A team player – confident to engage and work with multiple parts of a business
- A people person – happy calling/visiting customers and building relationships
- IT Literate and comfortable working with modern technology – eg. Google Docs, Google Maps,
- Analytical and comfortable working with spreadsheets (Excel) and thinking about the ‘so-what’ of your analysis

Preferred Experience & Knowledge

- Leading a team
- Working with a premium brand
- Working with a business that balances both wholesale and retail sales
- Building relationships with key stockists and partners
- Trade sales experience - developing and managing a strong sales pipeline
- Working internationally – particularly US and Asia
- Working with merchandising and operations teams
- Knowledge of legal do’s & don’ts of wholesale
- Experience of purposefully managing online distribution

We are committed to developing links with schools, colleges and universities, and we are happy to accept invitations from students looking to undertake unpaid work experience placements. These placements may involve time spent in our Offices, Shops, Warehouse or Factory, normally over a 3 day period.
