Business Analyst


This new role based within our Finance Team at our Stoke Factory will be responsible for developing and improving financial understanding across the business. Reporting directly to the Finance Director and working alongside managers from a wide set of departments, the role will take the lead in setting up systems to monitor, analyse and report on the financial performance of areas in the business that are currently not fully understood or monitored.
The main duties and responsibilities include:
- Responsible for producing annual budget and forecasts. This work will include:
- Setting all budget timetables.
- Preparation and distribution of all templates used in the process.
- Consolidation and analysis of completed templates.
- Review budget with Finance Director, add insight wherever possible and revising as necessary.

Financial Analysis
- Monitoring and reporting on a wide variety of activities across the business. This will lead to an increased focus on specific activities with and aim drive improvement where necessary. Some examples are set out below:

- Produce report on seconds by reason code
- Reporting Decorating department efficiencies – litho and sponge
- Reporting efficiency of new production facility at Berry Hill.
- Monitoring quality complaints via Customer Services system.
- Determining most cost-effective method ordering of litho transfer sheets.
- Drive all factory KPI setting and monitoring

- Improve sales forecast spreadsheet to link seamlessly with DC operational requirements.
- Work with DC to set up relevant PI checks & stock takes. Monitor these in line with agreed KPIs.
- Audit supplier performance in terms of delivery dates and quality of goods.

- Work with Web & NetSuite team to understand the types of discount given to customers. Devise ways of capturing these in NS and Phocas to monitor and report on them.
- Work with Customer Services team to understand the types of credits, returns and refunds given to customers. Devise ways of capturing these in NS and Phocas to monitor and report on them.

Carbon Reporting & Sustainability
- Work with Operations team and provide necessary analysis and reports for the company to comply with statutory requirements and enable us to meet our sustainability strategy and targets once finalised.

·       National Statistic reporting.
·       Product costing.

The ideal candidate will be:

·       Part Qualified CIMA/ACCA
·       At least 3 years’ experience in afinance role

E Commerce Manager (Maternity Leave Cover)

London, Putney

The ideal candidate will help deliver the ambitious sales plan for Emma Bridgewater as well run the day2day operations and development of the ecommerce platforms. They will lead and manage the day-to-day operations of  the key Ecommerce Channels (UK ,USA  & EU ,AUS) as well as  external relationships with our key partners in delivering the web development and sales growth plans for Emma Bridgewater.

Key duties and responsibilities include:
·       Supporting the delivery of the Business Strategy as outlined by Trading Director
·       Strategic input to Web development and optimisation and ensuring deliverables area achieved in line with Roadmap
·       Supporting Trade-site development, new & existing Marketplaces
·       Day today operations of all 4 sites – UK , USA , EU , AU and Wholesale Trade-sites, Ensuring Front-end and back-end functionality is consistent across all platforms
·       Ensuring the Site  Visual Merchandising and Content is updated regularly
·       Managing, developing  and giving direction to the Team which is clear, action oriented and results driven
·       Managing the relationship between the Brand and External Agencies from business-as-usual operations to ensuring deliverables of  strategic projects and roadmaps
·       Ensuring troubleshooting and bugs are escalated and resolved accordingly
·       Working with the Customer Service Team to optimise and ensure a robust end-to-end experience whilst at the same time constantly learning and implementing changes across the site and improving response times to customer service queries
·       Ensuring the Email Marketing plan is executed with Brand and Customer in mind and working to optimise our Email Marketing – Broadcast and Lifecycle strategy
·       Ensuring Data Protection and Privacy policies are up to date across all sites
Analytics and Reporting
·       Channel P&L responsibility, Budget planning for all Sites
·       Weekly Trading meeting preparation and delivery as well as Monthly Board Report preparation and any other Monthly, Quarterly, Seasonal Reports as requested
·       Defining and reporting weekly and monthly KPIs utilising Google Analytics, Shopify+, Phocas , NetSuite to generate Insights and support actionable, informed clear decisions on web Trading and Performance
·       Be KPI driven – having the Targets/Budget as a focus whilst also looking back vs Previous Period, Year and or Season to support decision -making
·       Reviewing stock and sales to ensure Homepage and Categories can be updated accordingly
·       Proficiency in Excel to support Budget planning, Reporting and Analysis
·       Developing relevant Dashboards to support Ecommerce Team analysis on Phocas, GA, NetSuite, and Shopify+
Web Development
·       Working with our external agencies and internal departments to develop and execute Web development plans for the short , mid, and long term of the strategy
·       Identifying opportunities for site development and optimisation to improve web performance with Customer Acquisition and Retention in mind
Digital  Marketing
·       Developing and aligning the digital marketing budget with external agencies
·       Ensuring deliverables on SEO , PPC , Paid Social , Email Marketing and Affiliates
·       Executing the Web Marketing Budget with CPA and ROAS in mind
·       Driving traffic and enhance brand visibility to support Customer Acquisition and Retention
·       Overseeing and developing a robust content plan to ensure Homepage and the sites are updated weekly , monthly, and seasonally , working closely with Marketing ensure Brand tone of voice are front of mind
·       Planning and executing the Product Launch Strategy with focus on Product Categorisation - ensuring the visual merchandising on site are by relevant collections, images are uploaded, and product information is correct,
·       Working closely with Marketing , Product , Buying and Merchandising Teams to ensure all the product info is available in NetSuite for Launch
·       Ensuring Product copy and content are on brand and available for launch dates across all platforms and other channels – Marketplaces , Wholesale , Distributors
·       Planning, developing, and implementing the yearly promotional calendar for UK ,US ,EU with the Sales Budget & Territories in mind
·       Leading Promo- planning meetings for key dates in the promotional calendar
·       Cascading and preparing relevant communications for Customer Service and Distribution Centre Teams
·       Ensuring there is a robust plan to update Website  FAQs , Banners, and other key customer touchpoints

Junior Merchandiser

London, Putney

We are currently looking for a Junior Merchandiser to work with Mitul, Head of Buying & Merchandising to ensure we will have the right stock, in the right place, at the right time across all channels and product categories. To coach and develop junior members of the team so that they are proficient with key merchandising principles and planning documents.

Key responsibilities are:

·      Responding to requests from Head of B&M and Senior Management Team for trading updates and ad hoc reporting.
·      Presenting trade across both Pottery and Home products, highlighting risks and opportunities with the guidance of the Head of B&M and working closely with the Buying team.
·      Ownership of the data process and uploading both Home Products and Pottery skus onto NetSuite and to support the teams with the upload process. Ensuring all data is maintained on the system and any changes (e.g. prices, hierarchy) are actioned.
·      Thinking innovatively to create Excel spreadsheets that analyse the performance, availability, and stock holdings across the business. Applying formulae and pivot tables to automate reports to run on a weekly/monthly basis.
·      Analysing and manipulating large sets of raw data, drawing conclusions, developing recommendations, and providing solutions.
·      Working alongside the Head of B&M to manage stock, commitment, and the Merchandising critical path, working closely with other areas of the business.
·      Understanding and helping to manage the company margin, commitment and BTA. Identifies risks & opportunities to the Head of B&M.
·      Helping to train and develop the MAA to gain a better understanding of key merchandising principles and increase their knowledge of key planning documents in order for them to be signed off to their next level.
·      Working with Head of B&M to create, develop and reforecast the company WSSI, category WSSIs and line flows to reflect the current planning and forecasting.
·      Responsible for the creation and management of an accurate line detail.
·      Working with the retail team to propose promotional activity, setup sale documents and further mark downs to clear through discontinued styles, highlights potential terminal stock risks and identifies ways to achieve the company stock targets.
·      Working closely with both sales and marketing and is aware of the promotional calendar at all times.
·      Aiding the Head of B&M to prepare documents for range reviews, signoffs, and strategy presentations, including range building, and presenting in these meetings when appropriate.
·      Contributing to the planning process with historical information and formulates ideas for growth.
·      Organising effective meetings, obtaining the desired objectives and making the best use of time.
·      Taking responsibility for the Merchandising function in the Head of B&M.
·      Building and establishing strong relationships throughout the business to help achieve the delivery of key objectives.
·      Creating and maintaining up to date Merchandising “best practice guides” for key reporting documents.

Key attributes required for the role are:
