Across the pond from our factory in Stoke-On-Trent, at the beginning of every July the United States of America comes together to celebrate Independence Day with a wonderful display of fireworks, parades, and backyard celebrations...

From rolling out the picnic blankets, and throwing down some comfy cushions, to firing up the BBQ and assembling a burger so tall that you can barely fit it in your mouth to finally, as the sun goes down, lighting the fuse and enjoying booming display of a fireworks in the skies above.

Set the Stage

As the summer sun (one hopes) shines bright, it's time to transform your backyard into a picturesque haven for your Fourth of July gathering. Arrange an outdoor dining area with colourful table linens and a blue star spangled spread of plates, mugs, and bowls for all the food. Pepper small glass vases displaying garden cuttings across your tables in a haphazard arrangement. And as dusk approaches keep the party going by candlelight with a scattering of storm lanterns.

BBQ Ideas

No Fourth of July celebration is complete without a mouth-watering BBQ. Here are a few ideas that will leave your guests wanting more:

Classic Burger
Combine ground beef with minced onions and spices of your choice. Shape the mixture into patties, grill them to perfection, and serve on a toasted brioche bun. Don't forget to add some cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, red onion, pickles, and a dollop of tangy mayo (homemade if you can - it really is the best). Present your feast on a large wooden chopping board.

Grilled Corn on the Cob

A simple yet delightful side dish. Peel back the husks of fresh corn, remove the silk, and brush the kernels with melted butter then, sprinkle with salt and pepper. Grill the corn until it's slightly charred and serve with a squeeze of lime. Serve up on a fitting platter from our Veg Garden collection.
