There’s much to appreciate about the auricula. This exotic-looking flower, with its jewel-like colours and subtle fragrance, has long been admired by botanists and painters. In fact, many upper class homes in the 18th century displayed them as auricula theatres (multi-tiered shelving).

What is a Second?
All our pottery is carefully inspected before it leaves the factory. An item is classified as a 'Second' if there is a slight fault in the finish, decoration or the shape. These faults are not structural and each piece will still function as intended. Most faults are marked with a black line which will be visible when your item arrives but washes off with a damp cloth.
