Seconds Dairy 1/2 Pint Jug
Our Dairy pattern, first introduced in 1990, was decorated from a copperplate engraving with the rural idyll illustrated on three pieces. This Dairy 1/2 Pint Jug retains the traditional engraving look yet, today, is created using litho. Our black and white farmhouse-style milk jug even uses the same image as the butter dish from way back then: the cow with a banner emblazoned with the words ‘From the best butter farm’.
Whether you pour full, semi-skimmed or skimmed milk on your cornflakes or muesli, our milk jug invites you to consider the provenance too. Using it will make you feel as if you’ve just collected fresh milk from a dairy farm down the road (the sort with a gate you lean on while exchanging pleasantries).
What is a second?All pottery is inspected before it leaves the factory. When an item is classified as a second the fault or faults may be in the finish, the decoration or the shape. The faults are not structural (i.e. each piece still functions as intended and is useable). Faults are marked with a black line which will be visible when your product arrives but washes off with a damp cloth.

What is a Second?
