Thistle

This great new pattern harks back to earlier designs, such as a Thistles pattern in 1997 for the National Trust for Scotland which incorporated a salmon, a saltire and a Hebridean Croft! Thistles flower around the wilder edges - they are splendid and beautiful- and also beloved of Goldfinches who feast on the seeds later in the year. Inevitably- and happily- thistles always evoke the romance and beauty as well as the indomitable resilience of Scotland and its people.
