Matthew Rice, Pat Albeck: Queen of the Tea Towel
Wednesday 14 November – 3pm
Twickenham Library - £8 / £6.50
Special £5.50 ticket price for Richmond Card holders
Pat Albeck designed over 300 tea towels for the National Trust. Each of her designs merited a visit to the place to be depicted, whether in Cornwall, Scotland or Norfolk, and her designs became synonymous with a visit to a Trust property.
Pat died in 2017 and the legacy of her remarkable work has been collected, loved and studied. Today her son Matthew Rice, will introduce us to some of her best loved designs, offering a unique insight into her work.
Join Rice as he takes us on a journey through the colour-washed harling of Scottish castles, Pat’s homage to her literary hero Thomas Hardy, her passion for gardens – more specifcally flowers, and her love of cats.
