About Tusk
For thirty years, Tusk has supported forward-thinking and successful conservation intervention in Africa and has helped pioneer a wide range of successful conservation initiatives across more than 20 countries, increasing vital protection for over 70 million hectares of land and more than 40 threatened species. From the plains of the Serengeti to the rainforests of the Congo Basin, Tusk is working towards a future in which people and wildlife can both thrive across the African continent.

Poaching, habitat loss and human-wildlife conflict are having a devastating impact on Africa’s wildlife. Tusk believes local people and organisations are best positioned to address these threats, but are often under-resourced and lack the recognition they deserve. By partnering with leading and emerging conservationists across Africa, Tusk secures donor funding to invest in the best grassroots conservation initiatives – helping to increase their profile and maximise their impact.

Tusk needs your support more than ever
The conservation projects Tusk support provide not just protection for Africa’s wildlife, but improved livelihoods and wellbeing for thousands. However, as Tusk begins to mark its 30th Anniversary and celebrate the successes of the conservation heroes they support, there is instead deep concern today that the impact of  COVID-19 across Africa could undo years of progress. The collapse in tourism and other revenue is threatening rural livelihoods and conservation efforts, and could lead to an increase in poaching and further habitat loss. Tusk is therefore doing all they can to help their partners to protect the jobs and livelihoods of those on the frontline so they may continue their vital work.
